I have the honour to address you on the subject of a communication which I have received from the Crown Agents for the Colonies, informing me that, in consequence of a decision arrived at in March last, but only now communicated by the Admiralty, they have deducted the sum of £20.14s from my Colonial Allowance for last month, the sum having been, it is stated, overpaid to me.
2. I have written to the Admiralty, requesting a reconsideration of the decision, which is in direct contraven- -tion of the arrangement under which I reverted to the Navy last year. The arrangement was, as I was shown at the time, that
I was to receive "the Fuld Pay of my rank in the Navy and that that Colony of Hongkong was to pay the difference between that sun "without allowances" and my Colonial full salary.
It now appears that the Admiralty have now, decided that the "Transport
